MARK JEFFERY SOLO WORK |
IE/(re) (1996-1998) IE/(re) has developed out of two Arnolfini Live Commissions, a black box presentation and a site specific presentation in an inner city derilict house. Mark Jeffery's work begins to examine and dissolve issues around autobiography and how twisting and weaving can create fiction and lies. Jeffery focuses upon the body's personal history. Using materials as diverse as a pool of milk, tiny hand fans and a dolls house he will explore ideas of the fairy tale, the individual's home, desires, abandonment, nurture and anxiety. Through a series of images and presentations he examines our ideas of fear and control. |
